What do they say about assuming? Assuming makes an a** out of you and me. That’s why you need a DNA test.
D: Do
N: Not
A: Assume
Assuming used to be my go-to. I had no care in the world for fact-checking. If I had a gut feeling that you did or said something, then in my mind, you did—and that was that!
This assuming mindset led me to entertain distorted thinking, which resulted in failure—failure to build trustworthy relationships, failure to reach my full potential, inability to think outside the box, failure to communicate effectively, and failure to control negative thoughts that prevented me from fact-checking.
Stop assuming and get that DNA test! It’s time to get comfortable articulating our preconceived notions so we can avoid misjudgment and get accurate information.
Because who wants to look like an a**?
